Together, we can do it all
Methodist Church of Ohio
Greetings, and thank you for visiting the online home of The Methodist Church’s Northwest Plains District! Our district, stretching across 11 counties in the northwest region of Ohio, encompasses more than 150 congregations, from quaint rural parishes to prominent churches situated in bustling towns and cities such as Lima, Findlay, and Defiance. Unitedly, we aim to make a remarkable difference in our communities by spreading God’s love and embodying the teachings of Jesus.
Faith and Belief
We have a deep commitment to living out the teachings of Jesus Christ, by demonstrating love and fairness in all our actions. Our goal is to heal the sick, provide nourishment for those who are in need, show kindness to newcomers, free those who are oppressed and be a shining example of compassion. Additionally, we work towards creating societal structures that reflect the principles found in the Gospel. We proudly represent the genuine faith of people worldwide.

The Methodist Church is deeply committed to the overall welfare of every individual, placing a significant emphasis on mental, physical, and spiritual health. Unitedly, we battle against poverty-induced diseases like malaria, HIV/AIDS, and tuberculosis, offering health education, advocacy, and infrastructure in the process. Carrying forward our legacy of over 150 years, we continue to be a major contributor to healthcare by operating hospitals, clinics, and mission centers throughout Africa.
The Methodist Church boasts a significant legacy of championing societal fairness. Initially, Methodists voiced their dissent against social evils like slavery, illicit trade, brutal jail environments, the misuse of alcohol, and child exploitation. Presently, individuals affiliated with the United Methodist Church take action, participate in protests, and offer prayers in favor of racial equality, environmental conservation, and equitable treatment for all.
One of the distinct and distinguishing aspects of the Methodist Church is our collective contribution. This joint effort powers our mission and allows us to express the worries of numerous individuals.
